2015 Twelve Days of Christmas #5 - Five Golden Rings - Ornament
First published in 1780, "The Twelve Days of Christmas" remains one of the
world's most beloved Christmas Carols. The "Golden Rings" of this song are
actually thought to b a reference to ring-necked pheasants, not jewelry. Such
game birds were often served at the Twelfth Night feasts. You can see the
other birds featured in this series on the Twelve Days of Christmas II series
page.
